Common Questions & Hesitations

Energy healing is often misunderstood because it exists at the intersection of science, culture, and personal experience. It is not always explained in clear, grounded ways and is sometimes presented in overly mystical or exclusive language. At the same time, research in this area is still evolving compared to more conventional medical models, and many of the cultural practices that have influenced modern energy work have not always been accurately represented. Because of this, people often encounter a wide range of information — from skepticism to exaggerated claims.

Hesitation around energy healing is completely understandable. For many, it is unfamiliar or not widely taught, and it may not align with the frameworks they are used to. Others may prefer approaches that feel more measurable or have had past experiences where wellness practices felt vague or inaccessible. It is also natural to feel skeptical when something is not explained in everyday, relatable language.

That hesitation is not a barrier — it is often a reflection of thoughtfulness and discernment. My approach is to keep this work accessible, honest, and grounded, creating space for curiosity and questions without overpromising or dismissing valid concerns.

What is energy healing?

Energy healing is a gentle, supportive practice that focuses on helping the body move into a more relaxed, balanced, and regulated state. The idea behind it is that our bodies are constantly responding to stress, environment, and life experiences. When we’re overwhelmed or carrying tension, it can impact how we feel physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Through techniques like Reiki or sound healing, energy work supports:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Nervous system regulation
  • A sense of grounding and balance

You don’t have to believe in anything specific for it to be beneficial — many people simply experience it as a structured space to rest, reset, and reconnect with themselves.

Are these healing modalities new?

No — practices that work with the body’s energy and natural state of balance have existed for thousands of years across many cultures.

Forms of energy-based healing can be found in:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Ayurvedic practices
  • Indigenous healing systems
  • Various cultural and spiritual traditions around the world

What is newer is how these practices are being reintroduced, studied, and integrated into modern wellness spaces.

Is Reiki religious?

No, Reiki is not a religion. While it has roots in Japanese tradition, Reiki itself is a non-religious, non-dogmatic practice. It does not require any specific beliefs, and it can be experienced by people of all backgrounds, identities, and belief systems.

My approach to Reiki is inclusive, grounded, and client-centered, meaning:

  • There are no expectations around belief
  • You are not asked to adopt any spiritual framework
  • The focus remains on your comfort, your experience, and your needs

What if I don’t know what I need yet?

That’s completely okay. Many people come in unsure. Part of my role is to help you explore what support might look like in a way that feels safe and manageable. You don’t need to have a plan — just a willingness to begin.

I’m not sure if this is for me — how do I know?

You don’t have to be certain to reach out. This work is designed to be flexible and adaptable. Whether you’re new to this type of support or simply exploring your options, we can start with a conversation and determine what feels right for you — without pressure or expectation.

Do I need prior experience with energy or sound healing to work with you?

No. All services are accessible to beginners and those with experience. Everything is explained clearly, and sessions are paced in a way that feels comfortable for you.

What if I feel uncomfortable or need to stop during a session?

You are always in control. This is a client-led space, and you can pause, adjust, or stop at any time. Your comfort and consent are prioritized throughout the entire experience.

Will this actually help me?

Everyone’s experience is different, and I don’t approach this work with guarantees. What I can offer is a space designed to support relaxation, clarity, and connection — where your body and mind have the opportunity to settle and respond naturally. Many clients leave feeling more grounded, regulated, and in tune with themselves.

Why does this cost more than other options?

There are many services available, and each offers something different. My work is fully client-centered, trauma-informed, and mobile — meaning I come to you and create a personalized experience rather than following a standard routine. This includes preparation, presence, and the integration of multiple skill sets and lived experience to ensure care feels aligned and supportive.

Is this worth the investment?

That’s a valid and important question. My work is not a one-size-fits-all service — it is personalized, intentional, and centered around you. You’re investing in support that is tailored to your needs, your pace, and your experience. Many clients find value in having a space where they feel genuinely seen, respected, and supported in a way that extends beyond a single session.

I’m worried about affordability. What are my options?

Accessibility is important to me, and I recognize that financial situations vary. For certain circumstances, I take ability to pay into consideration and may offer flexible or sliding scale options when possible. I encourage open communication so we can find something that feels workable while honoring the sustainability of this work.

Is this confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is respected. All interactions are handled with care and discretion. This a safe space where you can openly ask questions, move though, and discuss your experiences without fear of judgement.
